My ‘Adoptive’ Family, that I just call my ‘Family’

Okay, so we have an all-American family (which I consider to be a mixed family, sort of like the Brady Bunch) and it might get confusing so just stick with me…

My dad’s first three children with his 1st wife are:

  1. Debbie
  2. Rissa
  3. Ian

Then he married my mom and they added two more kids to the family:

  1. Lori (me, adopted when I was 2 yrs old)
  2. Brian

Here is an embarrassing picture of us when we were younger and more 90s:

Me and my sis Debbie at my brother’s wedding this year:

And here we are, all grown up, below at our wedding in August 2014:

From left to right:

  • Ian (Brother)
  • Brian (Brother)
  • Rissa (Sister)
  • Dad (Bill)
  • Mom (Linda)
  • Me (when I had loooooong hair)
  • Brayden (my husband)
  • Linda (Mother-in-law)
  • Richard (Father-in-law)
  • Erin (Sister-in-law)
  • Jemma (niece)

So that about sums it up! This is my family. And I call my adoptive parents my ‘real’ parents. Some people misuse that word out of not knowing, and now you know!
